GREENFIELD – Greenfield Banking Company was named Indiana Small Business Lender of the Year 2021.
Awarded by the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corporation, the award is for loans made by GBC to small business owners through the US Small Business Administration’s 504 credit program. Christy Smith and Laura Nance are the GBC lenders who provided SBA 504 loans to the bank’s borrowers.
Community First Bank of Indiana finished second for the award.
Twenty-one Indiana banks were in the running for Indiana state CDC Lender of the Year.
Indiana Statewide CDC is SBA certified to work with local lenders in providing SBA 504 loans. The loan recipients are small business owners in Indiana, either expanding or starting up.
The SBA 504 loans help small business owners purchase real estate, buildings, and equipment. SBA 504 loans can provide small business owners with long-term, fixed-rate financing that is similar to commercial loan terms common to large businesses.
The Indiana Bank’s Lender of the Year award is given to the Indiana bank which has the highest dollar amount of SBA 504 loans based on the bankâs total deposits with the Indiana CDC nationwide. GBC won the award again in 2019.
